Tech specs

Arch linux kernel version is 2.6.29 with preemption enabled. I have recompiled glibc using ABS with -msse4 and march=core2

I am more and more amazed with arch linux, a perfect fit for my system

Want to see more such beautiful screenshots. Well, you can install KDE 4.2 for yourself under Arch linux and enjoy the beauty of KDE 4.2 with power of Arch linux. I agree, it will be tough to learn arch linux but I have not hopped any other linux distro for past two months!!

NVIDIA Linux Driver 180.44 and glxgears

I updated my nvidia driver to 180.44. I was getting 5000 fps using glxgears before, now after updating I get a 20000 fps in glxgears!!
Even after resizing glxgears window, the gears animation was smooth and fps is above 2500 frames. I think nvidia rocks with 180.44 driver

I like Brasero CD burning s/w

After checking Brasero under ubuntu 9.04 all those weird problems vanished. I think it is to do with untested arch iso burning libraries which brasero calls. Now for writing CD's I am using Brasero but under ubuntu. I should be wary with Arch Linux Does not take the 8x speed (8x is supported by gnome baker) i choose and doing CD writing with full speed. I checked again, it overrides user preferences and thinks users are stupid, I hate its attitude Looks bad compared to great K3b, I donno if the debian lenny kde cd i burnt using this buggy brasero will boot
